Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Chanctonbury Cleaners collects, why, and what your rights are. We're a small, local cleaning business — we only ever collect what we need to arrange and provide your clean, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Chanctonbury Cleaners is a sole trader business run by Louise Begley, based in Steyning, West Sussex, BN44, covering Steyning, Bramber, Upper Beeding, Washington, Ashington, Storrington, Thakeham, West Chiltington and the surrounding villages. For any privacy question, contact:
- Email: chanctonburycleaners@gmail.com
- Phone: 07980 554710
What information we collect
When you get in touch — by email, phone, or the links on this website — to ask about our services, request a quote, or book a clean, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your address or postcode
- Your phone number and/or email address
- Details about your property and the cleaning you need
We only collect what you choose to share with us when you contact us — this website does not have a form that collects information automatically.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
- Arrange, schedule and carry out cleaning visits
- Keep basic records for invoicing and accounts
- Contact you about your booking, such as confirming or rescheduling a visit
We do this on the basis that it's necessary to fulfil a contract with you (or to take steps towards one, such as providing a quote), or because it's in our legitimate interests as a small business to respond to enquiries.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or share your information with anyone for marketing purposes. We may share limited details with:
- Our insurer, Simply Business, if relevant to a claim
- Our accountant or HMRC, where needed for tax and accounting purposes
- Anyone else, only where we're required to by law
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to respond to you. For clients we go on to work with, we keep booking and invoicing records for as long as we provide services, plus a reasonable period afterwards to meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any tracking or analytics technologies.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including keeping records in password-protected accounts and only sharing information with the third parties listed above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
To exercise any of these, just get in touch using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our business changes. Any changes will be posted on this page.
